Mulch, bark and more

Our Bark & Toppings category contains a variety of high-quality products from bark for mulching and woodchip for an alternative and attractive mulch as well as compost and topsoil. These materials have a wide range of applications and are a wonderful addition to any outdoor space. They will not only improve the appearance of your garden but ensure healthy soil acidity and nutrient levels. Mulch combines perfectly with grass, shrubs, pebbles, and rocks to create a beautiful front yard or rock garden. With compost and topsoil, you can enrich the soil in raised beds built from treated sleepers

Why use bark and toppings?

Mulching with bark has various important benefits to the garden, for example, it:

- Retains moisture in the soil.

- Suppresses weed growth.

- Helps prevent soil erosion.

- Keeps the soil at a consistent temperature.

- Makes your garden look more attractive.

- Adds nutrients to the soil as it breaks down.

On the topic of nutritious soil, you can use our organic compost bulk bags to boost your soil quality and help meet the enrichment needs of any substrate. In addition, our multipurpose topsoil bulk bags will provide an excellent medium for planting, turfing, and landscaping.

How to find good bark mulch for sale

It's important to purchase your materials from suppliers who can guarantee the purity and quality of their products. Look for information on how the wood was sourced, wood type, certifications, and quantity per bulk bag. Bulk bags are a cheaper and more eco-friendly alternative to polypropylene sacks. At Luxury Wood we always state the bag size to ensure you receive the volume you expect.

FAQ

Bark Fines vs Bark Mulch: what should I choose?

It depends on the look you're eager to achieve. Unlike our bark fines, mulch is coarser, and milled to fractions under 120 mm. Our woodchip mulch, on the other hand, contains pieces that are between 2-5 cm in size. Both products share many of the same benefits, so it depends on the purpose you wish to use them for. Woodchip provides a lighter colour and is gaining popularity as a mulch.

How many litres are in a bulk bag of topsoil?

Our large bulk bags contain approximately 1000 L each.
